Ok you can stop being jealous now. Day 11 #ridethehighlands #pissingwet #fireroadslog #tiredlegs @dmbins #rab

After a day spent in Fort William checking out a trail tip off from Nevis Cycles (thanks guys, perfect!), we drove the, now very smelly, Big Tree Campervan back to Inverness. Just in time too because the heavens have opened and I have been riding in full waterproofs in plantation woodland near Tain (heartfelt thanks to Rab Outdoor Equipment for keeping me dry and sane during this difficult time).

Today, on Day 11, having spread the soiled contents of the van throughout the entire house, it’s time to be off again. This time for some family riding in Royal Deeside followed by tomorrow(no apostrophe)s Burma Road accompanied by the legendary Keith Geddes and maybe others. For my finale on Saturday I ride the Corrieyarick Pass from Fort Augustus and get swooped up in Laggan then whisked down to Glasgow where I will be surgically removed form my bike and put on a plane to the Pyranees for bike detox. No bike. Two weeks. Weird. Maybe I’ll just take my helmet and wear it to cafes and museums.

Come ride the Corrieyarick with me…
